1/From your boat

Clearly one great way to see Vivid is from your own boat ! Be mindful though that it’s going to be busy out there and there are regulations of where you can and cannot go ! Book a spot at Darling Harbour for the night to extend the event. See here for details of how to book a night there.

2/ Taronga Zoo

This is the perfect venue to explore Vivid, with giant light sculptures of endangered wildlife scattered through the zo o grounds. Last year Taronga Zoo amazed and delighted guests with it’s colossal animal sculptures. There is allocated tickets for this interactive and immersive event, so bookings are essential. Be sure to visit Taronga Zoo and meet a cast of captivating creatures.

3/ The Calyx

The Calyx is a unique venue within the Royal Botanic Gardens and on the doorstep of the Vivid Light Walk. Featuring their own Firefly installation within the venue’s winter floral exhibition, this is one venue to add to your Vivid schedule. The start of the light walk is minutes from the venue and the light walk itself includes12 stunning light installations scattered through the gardens.

4/ Luna Park

On the water’s edge in Milson’s Point, Luna Park offers incredible views of the Sydney Harbour. If you are looking to escape the crowds, we suggest booking dinner at The Deck and enjoy the Vivid light show as the background to your dinner.

5/ Cruise Bar

Situated at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Cruise Bar offers spectacular views of Vivid, encompassing the magnificent projection on the sails of the iconic Sydney Opera House. Views also of MCA, Customs House, CBD venues and Sydney Harbour itself in all its glory.

6/ Aqua Dining

Located in Milson’s Point, Aqua Dining offers fantastic views of Sydney Harbour, including the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
